Development Experience
Arbonne International, Irvine, California
Web Development:
- Developed a content management application (ASP, SQL Server) to track files in the development to production release stages. The application would allow developers, graphic designers, and content creators to enter information on an individual file and notate any changes before promoting the file to ready for testing status. A role-based approvals process would then send email notifications to individuals assigned to verify and approve the changes. When all the required approvals were complete, the application would promote the file(s) to a changes complete status where admin users could verify the files size and date stamp on the staging and production servers and promote the file(s) to complete status, at which point the file(s) would be pushed to production. If issues were found at any stage in the process, the file(s) status could be rolled back and email notifications would be sent to all users involved in the initial development. An administrative console allowed for creation of top level “promotion” groups with target date and weekly, monthly, or emergency states. The console also allowed for administering the approvals process by adding/deleting or disabling a particular approval as well as adding/deleting or disabling its related users. Files “orphaned” in an archived promotion could also be moved into active promotions.
- Responsible for all database development for the content management system including design, stored procedures and performance optimization.
- Created client-side Javascript and AJAX libraries for creating improved UI experiences.
D4sports.com (Clubspaces Inc.), Tustin, California
Web Development:
- Primarily responsible for maintaining legacy code-base written in classic ASP using a SQL Server 2000 backend. Previous upgrade had created many errors in the system necessitating many SQL query rewrites and code logic changes.
- Created feature enhancements to their tournament administration module including an auto-seeding function and refinements to the referee registration module.
- Created a “kiosk-mode” for use at public tournament events that provided a user-friendly view of team schedules and event results.
- Participated in the conversion of several areas of the legacy code base into their new ASP.Net 2.0 application.
- Designed and developed a user-friendly “Tournament Lite” application using a subset of their full tournament system for use by existing leagues or clubs. The application automated many of the tasks necessary in the legacy system (ASP, AJAX, SQL Server 2000).
SecondSpin.com (Trans World Entertainment), Irvine, California
Web Development:
- Developed and implemented an electronic check payment option to integrate with the ASP/COM-based shopping cart (ASP, XML).
- Re-architected CD and DVD product information pages and back-end data store to maintain functionality after data provider was changed from Muze to All Music Guide (Coldfusion and MS SQL Server 2000).
- Performance issues resulting from the Muze to AMG conversion were apparent due to cross-database authentication issues. A performance optimization was conducted using SQL Profiler. Identified and implemented optimized indexing on database tables, queries and stored procedures.
- Developed and implemented a cross-site inventory synchronization application (ASP, XML and MS SQL Server 2000) to maintain accurate product inventory counts between local and remote web servers.
- Provided customer service for all technical issues both to the public and internal users. Responsible for researching possible causes, identifying appropriate solutions and testing/implementation of approved fixes.
Application Development:
- Identified performance issues and developed optimized code routines for back-end warehouse inventory application to alleviate application performance bottlenecks (Visual Basic, ADO, SQL).
- Researched, developed and implemented code to enable barcode printing to Monarch 9465 or Zebra printers based on workstation configuration (Visual Basic).
- Provided end-user support for all technical issues to internal users. Responsible for researching possible causes, identifying possible solutions and testing/implementation of appropriate fixes.
GuarantyGroup.com (Guaranty Financial Services), Austin, Texas
Web Development:
- Developed and implemented an online mortgage loan application (JSP, Sybase SQL). The application was scaleable to support up to four separate borrowers and maintained state between user visits.
- Developed a CD-ROM-based distribution method for loan officer marketing materials. The implementation included separate materials for branding within the company and used extensive Javascript code to identify and redirect requests resulting in a seemingly dynamic interactive experience in spite of the static nature of the distribution media (HTML, PDF, Javascript). Also was responsible for CD duplication hardware, configuration, media design and production.
- Developed and implemented an application for the Loan Products Group which allowed updates to their website by simply copying files to a network share. This was accomplished primarily by using the ASP FileSystemObject and a Microsoft Access database (ASP, MS Access).
- Developed and implemented an application allowing loan officers to generate a real-time financing profile in Adobe Acrobat format for a particular real estate agent property listing that would display three different loan financing options (ASP, MS SQL Server, Microsoft Excel, Adobe Acrobat).
- Designed and developed a dynamically-generated website to include homepages for all of the companies 200+ loan officers and their (1000+) related real estate agent partners. The navigation on the site was developed to account for variations in how or where the user entered the site and would maintain that “view” throughout their visit (ASP, MS SQL Server 2000).
- Developed a geographically-redundant in-house DNS system to accommodate the 300+ separate domains used for the websites which was automated by use of ASP-based scripts to allow real-time updates to the DNS entries (ASP, DNS).
- Developed and implemented a dynamic domain registration application to submit domain registrations/updates to Networksolutions.com (ASP, MS SQL Server).
- Provided customer service for all technical issues both to the public and internal users. Responsible for researching possible causes, identifying appropriate solutions and testing/implementation of approved fixes.
Application Development:
- Developed an MS Access Project to administer the Marketing Groups data. Included the ability to add/edit/delete product and loan officer data (MS Access, MS SQL Server, Visual Basic).
- Developed and implemented a Microsoft Excel-based application to generate static HTML files from spreadsheet data to populate the web site (www.timtg.com) and generate property financing profiles as well. (this was a precursor to the ASP/SQL Server based version.)
- Provided end-user support for all technical issues to internal users. Responsible for researching possible causes, identifying possible solutions and testing/implementation of appropriate fixes.
NonLinearSystems.com, San Diego, California
